What’s the thing you have been putting off for far too long?

For me, I’ve been contemplating running a half marathon for forever. I’ve dabbled in 5Ks and finally ran a 10K, but always have looked at the half marathon as something “real runners” do. I’ve spent too much time on my feelings and shorting myself on what I really wanted.

What I’ve learned is you can resist or you can commit. One accelerates you and the other hinders you. What’s a “real runner” anyway? If you run 1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles, or more it doesn’t matter. You are a runner! Where have you shorted yourself saying “I’m not ________.” Fill in the blank. The truth is you are what you say you are. Turn it into “I am ______.”Say it. Believe it. Do it.

“I am a runner!” Post 5K run selfie 😀

If you feel like you’re trying to make a decision, but having a hard time deciding, ask yourself these 3 questions!

1. Does this align with what I want?

2. Am I willing to make time for this?

3. Does this make me happy?

This will give you so much clarity into what you should be doing next. If it’s a “Yes” to all 3 you have your answer! Let’s go! If you respond “No” to any question, stop spinning with it, and in the words of Elsa, “Let it go!”

It’s really freeing when you just say, I’m ALL in and commit OR this doesn’t serve and move on. The mental conflict stops and you begin to shift to doing the things that align with exactly what you want! I know this, because it just happened and I feel so much better to have direction and a decision. Let’s go run a half marathon on October 5th!

Create your “I am” and use these questions to guide you. The decision is always yours. ✌️
