We recently went on a field trip with my daughter’s brownie troop to a local fire station. As we looked into the life of a firefighter we saw how they lived, trained, and served our local community. They made a special connection about their training and how it prepares them to be at their best every day to do their job. Could you imagine a firefighter that isn’t trained? Catastrophe! Each firefighter talked about the following things to be successful.
- Adaptability
- Discipline
- Preparedness
- Communication
- Fitness & Eating Healthy
- Hydration
If they can accomplish these things through training and daily habits they will be at their best to respond to an emergency and save lives. Do these relate to you as a mom? As a mom of 3, I respond to emergencies when they are least expected and pivot daily. The hard part is there is no training as a mom. Zero. We have to be intentional with how we take care of ourselves and train ourselves to respond to the needs of our families. We know we should take care of ourselves, but it’s easier said than done sometimes. Am I right?
Without fitness, eating healthy, daily gratitude, and sleep I know I can’t show up and be my best each day. I’ve developed my own heroic habits to be at my best every day to show up for myself and the people who need me the most.
If you are feeling the grind, living minute to minute or feeling like your feet are to the fire of life, this is your sign to reset. I challenge you to pick one thing you can do right now to be at your best! Share it in the Facebook Community for a chance to win!
If you want to come up with a list of your own heroic habits I would love to visit with you and help you figure them out! Just schedule a time or reach out!
It’s within you. It starts with you.
Love & Hugs Always,
Dr. B.
