If you’ve ever felt like summer slipped away without you making the most of it, I have a solution for you. This year, create a summer bucket list and make every day count! You can do this for yourself, with your family, or do both!

Why Create a Summer Bucket List?

A bucket list isn’t just a to-do list; it’s a collection of experiences and dreams you want to enjoy. I know as a busy working mom, juggling work, family, and other responsibilities can make it easy to forget to have fun. A summer bucket list helps you prioritize joy, adventure, and make the most of the warmer months. 

Here’s a list of questions to help you create your bucket list! 

  1. Reflect
  • What were the best moments of last summer?
  • What did you miss out on?
  • What do you want to do more of?
  1. List all Your Ideas
  • Go on a weekend road trip
  • Attend a local festival
  • Eat Ice Cream
  • Start a new workout routine, like outdoor yoga
  • Visit a farmer’s market
  • Try a new recipe
  • Have a movie night under the stars
  • Go hiking in a new place
  • Go Fishing
  • See Your Favorite Animals at the Zoo
  1. Prioritize & Balance
  • Group your ideas into ‘must haves’ first and so forth
  • Be realistic about your time and energy

4. Make a Plan

  • Choose your top activities and put them on your calendar
  • Balance big adventures with relaxing activities
  • Make sure to leave some time for spontaneity

  5. Capture the Moments

  • Keep a journal or scrapbook of your summer adventures
  • Take photos and write about your experiences
  • This will help you remember all the great times
