Vision is important to creating life on purpose because it guides our actions and decisions. Without a clear vision of what we want to achieve, we may find ourselves wandering through life, without a sense of direction or purpose like a car driving in the wrong lane or sitting stalled in the middle of a highway. Sound familiar?

Creating a life vision requires taking a step back and reflecting on what is most important to you. Here are 3 Tips to Create a “Life Vision”.

  1. Reflect on your values and priorities: Grab a pencil and paper and ask yourself questions such as, “What brings me joy?” “What are my core beliefs?” and “What kind of legacy do I want to leave behind?” Once you share on paper it’s time to take the next step!
  2. Use visualization techniques: Visualization can be a powerful tool for creating your life vision. Close your eyes and imagine your ideal life in vivid detail, using all your senses. See yourself living your dream life, surrounded by the people and experiences that matter most to you. Use this image as inspiration to set specific goals and take action toward achieving your vision.
  3. Write down your vision and revisit it regularly: What did you see? What was different than what you see today? Why? Once you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in life, write it down in a tangible form such as a vision board, a journal, or a mission statement. Revisit your vision regularly to keep it fresh in your mind and stay motivated!
