I have a love-hate relationship with fishing. I love getting outside, getting ready to catch “the big one,” but when it comes down to it, it can be a patience tester. Ever have that thing that you get so excited for, but when it’s happening, it wasn’t as fun as the anticipation? On the flip, maybe the outcome wasn’t as good as you expected.

Truth be told, I didn’t catch the big fish over the Memorial Day weekend but the anticipation leading up to the event was the most fun! Similarly, being stuck in life often involves waiting but how long will you wait?

We often get stuck on what DIDN’T happen or we stay stuck because we are waiting for the thing to happen, but what if it never does?

If you want a different outcome, you will need to do something different. You have more options than a pole, some bait, and yourself. Here are some options:

  1. Cast in a New Place- Evaluate Your Surroundings
  2. Use a different kind of bait- Develop a new strategy
  3. Buy a boat- Aquire new tools
  4. Go to a new lake- Try a new environment
  5. Stop fishing altogether- Stop what you are doing and make a NEW plan

Just as a fisherwoman must reflect on their tactics and strategy, feeling stuck in life calls for introspection. Are you ready to reflect and find yourself? Are you looking for a new plan or need tools to get the momentum you need to move forward?
