Are you a “yes” girl? I used to be. I was aiming to please instead of taking care of myself. If it’s not my top pet peeve it’s in the top 5 sure. Saying yes to everything! What used to be so easy for me to say is now a part of how I design my life. Here are my top pet peeves in life. #1 People chewing with their mouth open. #2 Someone cracking their knuckles, #3 peppermint anything (I love watermelon gum). #4 any one who talks during a movie and #5 anyone who makes a choice without knowing if aligns with their purpose!
Stop saying yes to everything and be sure to evaluate what is being asked, the time you have available to commit, and if it adds value to what you are creating in your own life! Here are some tips to making choices to align with your purpose.
1. Start with reflection. It’s hard to know where to go if you don’t know where you’re starting from. Before making a decision, take the time to reflect on your values and priorities. What matters most to you? What are your long-term goals? By clarifying these things, you can make choices that align with your purpose and help you move closer to your desired outcomes.
2. Gather information: Making an informed decision is essential to making a choice with a purpose. Gather information about the options available to you, and consider the potential consequences of each choice. Take the time to research, ask questions, and seek advice from others who have experience in the area you are considering.
3. Consider the long-term impact: It’s easy to get caught up in the short-term benefits or drawbacks of a decision, but it’s essential to think about the long-term impact as well. Consider how your choice will impact your life in the years to come and whether it aligns with your values and priorities.
4. Evaluate risks and benefits: Every choice comes with risks and benefits. Take the time to evaluate these factors and consider how they align with your purpose. What are the potential benefits of each choice? What are the risks involved? Are the potential benefits worth the risks?
5. Trust your intuition: While it’s important to gather information and evaluate risks and benefits, it’s also important to trust your intuition. If something doesn’t feel right or doesn’t align with your values, it’s okay to choose a different path. Trust yourself and your instincts, and make choices that feel right for you.
